Paxos is located just 14km south of Corfu and is just 12 square miles of Greece as it used to be – it is Greece in miniature. Paxos has no airport, so it has been spared the impact of mass tourism and retains its Greek charm.
Lakka is the second largest village in Paxos and is located on the north tip of the island. It is sheltered by two headlands which create a lovely horseshoe bay, surrounded by olive and cypress trees. This is a beautiful location, popular with yachts on their way to Corfu. The village has narrow streets and an excellent selection of restaurants and tavernas. Even though Lakka has everything which you need, it still retains a quiet and laid back atmosphere.
Although Paxos does not have an airport, it is still easy to access via Corfu, which has many direct charter flights from the UK, and from 31 March 2008 also has EasyJet scheduled flights. You can reach Paxos by sea plane from Corfu town in only 10 minutes, by Ferry hydrofoil in 1 hour, or by a more leisurely sea-taxi.
