Simotata of Kefalonia is the village located under the Great Soros, the highest peak of Enos, but also all of the Ionian Islands.  Simotata is built at the foot of the mountain, at an altitude of 205 meters. 
From Simotata, passes the provincial road that connects the capital of Kefalonia, Argostoli, with its eastern port of Poros.  It is close to Lourdas Beach, one of the best in the area.
